Healthy Alternatives For Chocolates

There is a growing trend about eating chocolates. This trend has become a great concern as children are getting addicted to chocolates. This generation has increased cases of obesity, juvenile diabetes and even wrong metabolism. To protect our kids, here are some healthy alternatives to chocolate. This will help child, as well as parents and guardians.

1. Dry fruit combination Almond, Walnut, Pista, jaggery rolls.

Take finely chopped pista, almond and walnut. Use jaggery powder and mix them continuously till jaggery leaves little water. Make rolls or ladoos or any desirable shape, which your child might like to eat and serve. Do give your child these rolls. It’s easy to make and eat also. Such rolls are healthy for them they should eat.

2. Dates and Ghee

Take two dates, remove the seeds of the dates and then dip them in melted ghee and give your child to eat. This will lubricate your child’s gastro intestinal tract and would help in a better digestion.

3. Homemade fruit leather

These are sweet chewy treats and are loaded with nutrients for children. They are easy to make and taste as sweet as chocolate. Mango Fruit Leather, understand how to make it.
Blend two cups of mango pieces in a blender or processor, until you get a smoothie. Add honey and lemon juice and blend a little more. Then pour the mixture into a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spread to one eighth or one fourth inches thickness. Now this has to be baked. Bake at 60 to 70 degrees centigrade or the lowest temperature of your oven for six hours. Allow to cool and then remove it from the tray. Cut into one end strip and roll it with the parchment paper. This Mango fruit leather is ready now. Remove the parchment paper and eat it and enjoy this. Different fruit leather could be made from other varieties of fruits like strawberry, raspberry or whatever your child likes to eat.

4. Fruit Chips

Let’s see Apple Chips first. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the Apple to one fourth inch slices and arrange these slices on the baking sheets. Thrust these slices with little oil and then sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway until they are lightly golden brown. Make it go to room temperature and then enjoy it.

5. Kale chips

Preheat the oven up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the apple into 1/4th inch slices and arrange these slices on the baking sheet brush these slices with little oil and then sprinkle with cinnamon bake for 30 minutes flipping half way until they are lightly golden brown. Make it cool to room temperature and then enjoy it 2nd Kale chips Preheat the oven up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove the kale leaves from the thick stem, then chop into bite sized pieces. Mix kale with two tablespoonful of olive oil. Add the seasoning to the kale of one-fourth teaspoonful of salt and one-fourth teaspoonful of pepper, until it is fully coated. Arrange this seasoned kale on a baking sheet, ensuring that chips don’t overlap. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes until the edges are brown.

6. Sugar baked chickpeas or lentils

Usually, children avoid eating chickpeas in an appropriate quantity. As they are not as tasty as chocolate. But chickpeas are rich in protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Also they reduce the risk of many diseases, such as heart condition and diabetes in later life. They will help your child grow sharper and stronger. For this recipe, we need cinnamon roasted chickpeas. Ingredients are 1 cup of cooked chickpeas, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 tablespoonful of Brown sugar or jaggery, 1 tablespoonful of ground cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of salt. Preheat your oven 204 degrees Celsius and bake the chickpeas for 15 minutes. Now remove chickpeas from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and then sprinkle with the cinnamon topping. Stir until fully coated and now bake for another 15 minutes. They can be shaped, as the child likes. Many other lentils can be used instead of chickpeas to make the chocolate time more nutritious.

Kids don’t eat other healthy foods, vegetables, and other things, and so this is a better alternative. Try all these recipes. They are very tasty. They are very healthy and they could really give you a healthy body and a very sharp mind. Whenever your child is asking for chocolate, come on give them once in a while, but see to it that after they finish chocolate eating, then they eat a handful of Chana / Gram flour or they eat one or two slices of Apple, and that would help clearing their teeth. They would never have caries in their mouth. Try all these recipes, which we have given you in the house and make child enjoy these different kinds of chocolates, which you have made in the house.
